Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. loves community service!

GO GREEN with Pi Psi: UCF Students came out in front of the Student Union at our Table on February 3, 2010 to learn about Recycling and how they can make a difference in the World! We shared many environmental facts, gave out cookies and juice, and passed out 100 free recyclable grocery bags.

To kick off our "STEPS for Salvation for Haiti" we collected shoes for the earthquake victims.

Community Service at Second Harvest Food Bank

The Pi Psi chapter and the Orlando Community raised 3,000 pounds of can food during the Pink Project: Preventing Hunger!

Platform 3: Habitat for Humanity

Platform 5: "Pie in the Face"

This was a contest for NPHC to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Foundation!! Students donated money in order to pie members of Pi Psi and other NPHC members.

Platform 5: Give Kids the World

Pi Psi Reenacted the Winter Holiday by marching in a parade to entertaining children with life threatening Diseases

Platform #4: Senior Net

The Pi Psi Chapter fulfills this platform by volunteering at a local Senior Center and showing senior citizens how to type, download documents, surf the internet and send emails.

Platform #4 : Cell Phones for the Elderly

The Pi Psi collected used cell phones to donate to the Elderly so that they can all 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.

Platform 3: Green up Orlando

With the help of Delta Omicron Omega we planted inaugural seedlings and trees for civil rights at Ivy Lane Elementary. This project also was to celebrate the inauguration of Barack Obama as the first African American President

Platform #3: Orlando Rescue Mission

Orlando rescue mission is a shelter for families that are homeless. The shelter is open for the family until the family can stand on their own financially. We help stuff envelopes that asked for donations and we played fun games with the under privileged children at the shelter.

Smile of a Child

Pi Psi highly supports Smile of a Child, a non-profit organization. Pi Psi collected new or fairly new condition dolls of color and sent them over seas to Haiti.

Pi Psi has an ongoing project for Platform 3 where we volunteer with students at the Grand Avenue Elementary after care program.
